History about NFR

The National Finals Rodeo has quite a number of events and ceremonies that have been tied to it ever since it was started. ceremony is filled with excitement and feature top country music acts and performances. These are some of the most notable things that give the NFR event its name.
NFR Opening Ceremonies
The NFR always starts with a great opening ceremony. The musical act is usually the real deal. 2019 NFR is yet to announce its music act. At the opening ceremony, all the 120 participants come out riding on horses with their state’s flag.
The Cowboy Christmas has featured in every NFR event at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It showcases the best equipment and experiences every cowboy dies for. In 2019 it will run from December 4th to the 14th every day from 9 AM to 5 PM. It offers a great chance to meet your favorite competitors.
Miss Rodeo America
Miss Rodeo America Pageant is an all-time-honored tradition of the NFR. It starts four days before the main NFR event, for the 2019 NFR it will start on December 2nd and will run until December 9th where the finals will take place at the Tropicana Las Vegas.
NFR found its very first major sponsorship deal in 2001 from the American-based jeans manufacturer Wrangler.

Why 120 Contestants?
NFR is usually the final showdown of the cowboy events and competitions. It is the season finale or the ultimate challenge. Before the National Final Rodeo, these cowboys from all over the US compete in different challenging rodeo events. 120 cowboys are selected From these events upon successful completion of the event to compete in the NFR Championship which is the final showdown and the only arena where the ultimate prize; the PRCA World; All-Around Championship Title is given.
